Visit of the delegation from the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) - Prague, 3 - 4 March 2009

At the invitation of Mr Igor Němec, President of the Office, his French counterpart from the Commission Nationale de l´Information et des Libertés, Mr Alex Türk and accompanying delegation, visited Prague on 3 – 4 March 2009. Mr Türk is also chairman of the European Commission´s Article 29 Data Protection Working Party. The aim of the visit was to exchange on the most pressing issues in data protection in the context of the Czech Republic´s EU Presidency taken over from France. The visitors were also received by Mr Přemysl Sobotka, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic as well as by its Standing Commission on Privacy Protection. Lastly, during their press conference both officials signed a joint press release on co-operation Europe-wide and internationally in awareness raising and education on Internet and minors. They also agreed on organising mutual study visits of experts from both institutions.
